Russet Cottage

Entrance to Russet is through the main courtyard of the complex. There is a small porch that leads onto a large kitchen/diner. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, cooker, hob, microwave, and fridge freezer. From the kitchen the hall leads into the lounge. A big room with its main feature- the beautiful fireplace. The fireplace is currently capped and houses an electric stove heater.

From the lounge there is a second entrance which would have been the original formal ‘Sunday’ entrance to the farmhouse. This door leads out to the gardens as well as our animal paddocks. From the rear of the house there are fantastic views of Glastonbury Tor as well as Gog and Magog oak trees.

From the back hallway there are stairs that lead up to the second floor. This original staircase, although not many steps, is quite a steep gradient.

Upstairs there is a large family bathroom that is big and airy. In it there is both a bath and a separate shower.

There is a double bedroom, twin and a single bedroom. The twin and double have large windows overlooking the rear gardens and Glastonbury Tor. The front single bedroom has views over the Mendips.

Russet has full central heating from our Bio-Mass boilers. Not surprising our older cottages are the warmest in the winter and the coolest in the summer. Thick external walls do keep the weather outside.

Russet is only one of our 15 cottages and glamping cabins at Middlewick. We can accommodate up to 50 people across the complex.
