September is here and jumpers are back on after a wonderfully long and warm summer! Now we jump into the next season, and in our opinion this is the best time of year to spend in Glastonbury with the many local events and celebrations this next season holds.

Make the most of these magical autumnal moments and stay with us for a weekend! Whether in a wooden lodge or cosy cottage, we have the accommodation to complete your visit. We also have our beautiful on site Spa and award-winning Café and Farm Shop.

Here’s a bit on what is coming up in Glastonbury…

Mabon – Autumn Equinox – 22nd September

Mabon is a Pagan holiday and one of the Sabbats of the Wheel of the Year. Celebrated on the autumn equinox, it is a moment in the year when day is equal to night.

This is a time to bring balance into our lives and celebrate the abundance of the harvest and the gathering of the fruits. Remember to appreciate yourself as you review what you have achieved with the seeds you have sown throughout the year. This is the perfect time to express gratitude for the lessons and the blessings in your life.

Samhain – 31st October

Samhain is another of the eight sabbats of the year. This is the Celtic new year, the end of summer, the final harvest and the beginning of winter. On this day, it’s believed the veil between the living and the dead is especially thin, allowing spirits of the dead to visit the living.

This is the ideal time to celebrate your ancestors – those who walked before you.

There are many events going on around this time in Glastonbury, including the annual zombie walk and the Glastonbury Dragons Samhain procession with drummers, green men, rituals, Morris dancers and ceremonial fire, symbolic of the Wild Hunt.

Glastonbury Carnival – 15th November

The Somerset carnivals are widely regarded as the largest illuminated processions in the UK and Europe and they are right in the heart of Somerset, with the final night being in Glastonbury. Carnival is an annual tradition dating over 160 years.

Somerset residents are almost always involved in the the carnival, know someone who is, or attend one of the events along the route – none of us escapes carnival! Here in Glastonbury the streets are thronged with families, children and friends. It’s loud, colourful and wild.

Carnival never disappoints!

Frost Fayre brings the community together to mark the start of the Festive Season.
