Searching for good Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurants close to us here in Glastonbury. Here are 5 to choose from.

Rainbows End has been on Glastonbury High Street for over 25 years.  It is only open at lunchtime and it is the busiest little cafe for miles.  But don’t be put off, the queue at the food counter moves very quickly and the food is worth the wait.  The garden in the rear is perfect to sit and enjoy the lovely food.  Make sure and leave room for cake as they are yummy.  Or do as I do sometimes, get a takeaway lunch and/or a piece of cake to head up Glastonbury Tor for a picnic.  Dog Friendly in the courtyard.

Good Earth.  Another self-serve cafe is only open at lunchtime, but this one is in Wells.  Always nice food and they do great coffee here.  They have a well-stocked health food shop to the rear of the restaurant.

Home in Castle Cary is more of a small restaurant than a cafe. Well worth the 20-minute drive from us here in Glastonbury.

Blue Note on Glastonbury High Street.   A good option for a veggie breakfast.  Affordable veggie options for lunch and dinner on weekends.   I love the little tables in the courtyard to the rear of the cafe.  Dog Friendly.   Update for 2019.  Thursday through Sunday the Blue Note runs a music cafe with fantastic local musicians booked to play at 8pm. Bar and food until late.

Excalibur in Glastonbury is a raw, vegan, and vegetarian restaurant.  They have nice burgers and an all-you-can-eat buffet.  They are quite well known for their fermented food and drink which is available for takeaway. January 2019 it has new management and things are looking up for the Excalibur which had a very bumpy start.
