In Glastonbury, the changing seasons are more than dates on a calendar, they are woven into the landscape, community and spirit of the town. From solstice gatherings on the Tor to seasonal celebrations throughout the year, the Wheel of the Year remains an important part of life here.
At Middlewick, we honour these seasonal rhythms through both our café and spa. Our café menus evolve with the year, showcasing fresh spring ingredients, vibrant summer flavours, autumn harvest produce and comforting winter dishes. In the spa, seasonal treatments are designed to reflect the energy of each Sabbat, offering opportunities for renewal, balance, grounding and rest as the wheel turns.
Living beneath Glastonbury Tor, we are constantly inspired by nature’s cycles and the ancient traditions that continue to thrive in this unique corner of Somerset. The Wheel of the Year reminds us to slow down, connect with the present season and celebrate the beauty of change.
This connection to the seasons has recently been brought to life in a beautiful new way. We are delighted to unveil a collection of artwork celebrating each of the eight Sabbats, specially designed and hand-painted by artist Natasha Lee who works in pen, ink and watercolour. Known for her artwork inspired by Somerset, Natasha has captured the spirit, symbolism and energy of each seasonal festival, creating a stunning visual journey around the Wheel of the Year.
This collection will offer guests another way to connect with the changing seasons during their visits, bringing together art, wellbeing and Glastonbury’s rich seasonal traditions in the heart of Middlewick.
These beautiful artworks will soon be on display in our Spa, offering guests a unique journey through the Wheel of the Year. Keep an eye on our updates for details of a special open day where you’ll be among the first to experience the collection.
The Middlewick cottages sit quietly beneath the winter night sky as a barn owl glides silently through. This artwork captures the calm beauty of the season, where warmth glows from within and nature moves gently through the darkness.

The movement of the flock reflects awakening energy in the landscape, as life begins to re-emerge across the Somerset Levels. This artwork captures the sense of hope, motion and quiet transformation that defines the season.

Beltane celebrates the height of spring and the arrival of summer’s warmth. Traditionally a festival of fertility, passion and abundance, it honours the vibrant energy of life in full bloom. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, when the sun reaches its greatest strength and the natural world is alive with abundance. Sheep graze beneath the branches of an apple orchard as the land turns towards autumn’s balance. This artwork captures the richness and calm of early autumn on the turning Wheel of the Year.
The ancient oaks of Gog and Magog stand watch as the Wheel of the Year turns into Samhain, the threshold between light and darkness. At this sacred time, the veil between worlds is believed to be at its thinnest, inviting reflection, remembrance and connection with the unseen. A black crow circling above serves as a messenger and guardian, symbolising wisdom, transition and the mysteries of the season.
