Glastonbury Festival 2023

Every year we host a large corporate event here for Glastonbury Festival.  This year we had 140 guests staying with us for Glastonbury Festival 2023.   60 bell tents and a toilet block were put up to accommodate the group alongside of all our cottages and glamping.  We do this every year with the help of ZooLoos.    The Tents and Toilet block are very luxurious for our guests.   We run 5 shuttle buses back and forth to the festival site with the help of Taunton Minibuses.

The group have breakfast and late-night supper every day with us.   A lot of food gets eaten.  We had 800 eggs from our local egg supplier Sourdown Farm, lots of sourdough bread from Simply Sourdough, plus lots and lots of bacon and sausages from our butcher Ashley at Home Farm.    I love that I can spend locally for the benefit of so many small businesses around us here in Wick.

A few years ago I introduced a goody bag for all the guests.  It is so hard to get brands in front of the right people so this is my way of helping get brands in front of influential people.   You never know what will happen when the right person falls in love with your product.  And this year we had some great brands join us.

Although we are super busy with all the Festival business we do manage to play a lot as well.   I manage to get up to the festival every day and this year I saw some great bands.

This year was all about the ladies- my favourites were CMATCaroline Polachek, and Rina Sawayama.  Bands – my new favourite Lottery Winners, with an awesome sea shanty cover of Nickelback Rock Star.  The Phoenix who I had never heard of but I opted to watch instead of Elton John(sorry Elton).  Male singer – would have to be Tom Grennan, although Rick Astley was also amazing.

The post festival blues have set in today – Sunday, a week after it finished.  But now thinking about the next festivals here in Somerset.  We have a few coming up including:

  1. Priddy Folk Festival – 7th-9th of July. A great line up and one of my favourites The Drystones are playing that one.
  2. Godney Gathering – 14th and 15th July. The Zutons head this one up and there are some other great bands playing in the 2 day festival.
  3. Valley Fest – 3rd-6th of August. Soul II Soul, BananaramaThe Kooks Scouting For Girls.
  4. Glastonbury Extravaganza. 5th of August. Texas and Ian Broudie and the Lightning Seeds
Come and stay for the party.
And if Food is more your thing than music – we have the Somerset Food Trail Festival from the 14th – 30th of July.

We have accommodation available for those dates if you would like to join us to get your Festival buzz.
