Every year The Glastonbury Abbey with the help of Glastonbury Festival hosts Glastonbury Extravaganza
An outdoor event in the stunning grounds of the Glastonbury Abbey for up to 5000 people. .
It is always such a great event, well organised and full of happy people. There are food stalls or you can bring your own food and drink (no glass though).
This year Paloma Faith will be performing on the stage. She was supposed to perform a few years ago but had to cancel due to illness. Tom Odell had to be helicoptered in to replace her at very last minute. If people hadn’t loved him before that performance, they definately loved him afterwards as he tried to keep everyone entertained. A piano was borrowed from Millfield for him to play on and he scribbled a playlist on his way to Glastonbury. He tried to play a Paloma Faith song but only made it half way through as he didn’t know all the words, the crowd helped him out with it.
So Paloma Faith is now returning to make up for the lost event and the town is looking forward to it. After the music there is always the most incredible firework display for the crowd, I am probably biased but I do think they are the best display you will ever see with the backdrop of the Glastonbury Abbey.
There are still tickets available for the event this year and you can purchase tickets here:
And we still have a selection of accommodation available for the weekend or the single night in Pippin Cottage which sleeps 6 people.
Also on that weekend you will find the Childrens Festival which takes place at our neighbours Paddington Farm. This is a great fun weekend of entertainment.
